Waking Dreams
“It is the window of time between sleep and full consciousness. It is when I realized that there’s something sacred and healing in the Self and that creativity can release its power…perhaps this power is our deepest connection to God and our souls and all that we, in our busy and conscious lives, are not still enough to hear or feel.
It is for some, a creativity…expressed by music, sculpture, painting, photography, gardening, cooking, writing, theater or dance.
It is a call to the true Self, to a path of growth…that feels full and life-giving like the best of friendships and the greatest of loves.
It is the sparkle of the soul we feel in church or temple in the midst of our world’s natural beauty…the beach, the mountain tops, and forests…the smiles of great faces…the giggles of children.
It is within each of us – buried, in some, amidst roles and agendas and brilliant in others who have been graced with great intuition or forced by disease or crisis to hear the whispers of the waking dreams….

9 unbelievably appreciated and swell comments:
100th post, that calls for congratulations...Very intresting post. Emotions/actions and the frontal cortex, thought provoking.
Italian heritage, living in the south of France, nice combo. We are still experiancing the chill of winter past.
Have a blessed day... as my thoughts and prayers join yours for the families of the Air France passengers.
Congratulations to you! I look forward to many, many more.
Your forehead theory is well worth a thought!
Love your childhood picture. We had the same fashion sense - that could have been me, too.
I'm so deeply saddened by the loss of the Air France Flight. It is hard to have a normal day thinking of the heartbroken families.
Wishing you all the best,
Catherine
I think the forehead theory sounds very plausible based on those exhibits!
Congratulations on 100! (And many more, as they say for birthdays.)
this blog is beautiful
best wishes

Congratulations on your 100th post!
I too read with sorrow about the crash. My thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved.
Great post...even better book. I saw Greg Mortenson speak. Amazing. My daughter started pennies for peace at her school.
The post number 100 is a mammoth of a post, may I say. That feature on foreheads and Republicans was superb. And your lovely photo of you and your Granny brought a smile to my face. Many thanks.
Greetings from London.
Great posts as I've scrolled back - awesome photos, both yours of your family and those 'borrowed' from French mags. etc. I look for Cote Sud and others (Maisons de Campagne and Campagne Decoration are wonderful) at the bookshops, but very hard to find here (North Carolina).
I was last in France in Oct. and grabbed as many mags. as I could carry back! My brother lives in the Languedoc so hopefully I'll return to visit before too long. Have just been home to England - perhaps you will enjoy my posts of scenic walks across the Channel - hope you can stop by!
Congrats. on 100 posts - they take a lot of work when as beautiful and informative as yours - I will definitely return for more enjoyment and enlightenment.
Warm wishes -

Dear Doc, don't know if my comment got to you or not. I am new at blogging and new to understanding a different culture, which I am looking for. Please excuse, if this is the second post. I am a retired RN trying to keep my brain active and stimulated. Loved your blog. Come visit me in the hills of Kentucky, USA if you see fit. Blessings
